- 3. Structural Materials Add Aesthetic Appeal
- 4. Affordable
- 5. Quality
The strength of post and beam homes come from the bent framework, not the supporting walls like other forms of construction. This means that you have significantly more space to work with when deciding how to finish your home. Whether you’re looking for a large great room, an expansive dining room perfect for entertaining, or a wide range of other ideas, the space is yours for the finishing!
The structural components of a second floor are inherently a part of the bent work, therefore utilizing this space is just a matter of adding floor joists and flooring materials.

A post and beam home is very similar in cost to a stick frame living space. This is especially true if the stick frame structure is finished to look like post and beam. When compared to log or mortise and tenon timber frame, post and beam is considerably less expensive and comes with many other benefits.
When it comes to quality, Legacy is unmatched. Not only do we use kiln-dried Douglas fir for our bent work components, but we also include more items in our standard kit contents than many other kit providers. We do this to ensure your kit comes the way you expected it. After all, while we’re building your Legacy, we’re also building ours!
