Two Distinct Barns, Built 12 Miles Apart

Legacy Post & Beam ships kits all across the nation. In fact, our Spring 2020 production schedule has more than a dozen states represented. However, last spring we had the unique privilege of working with two (unrelated) customers on projects just down the road from each other, and from us! These private use barns in the Greater Omaha Area serve much different purposes. One priority at the top of both customers minds: A classy barn, that is built to last!

The Armstrong 4672

46′ x 72′ Gable | 22′ Center Section with Two 12′ Lean-tos

The first is a boat storage barn with workshop space that is built on a private lake. This design features our gable roof line and is comprised of a 22′ center section with two 12′ enclosed lean-tos.Notice the gray stain that is applied to the board and batten siding. This gives it an aged feel and is one of many popular treatment options. Our siding comes untreated, which allows each customer to give it the finished color they prefer.

The second local project we worked on last spring serves as both a collector vehicle storage barn and a party barn. With 3,744 sq ft on the main level and 1,152 in the loft, it accommodates both of these functions well.  The raised center style maximizes usable space in the loft, which is where the majority of the entertaining takes place. Furthermore, the 14′ leans-tos enable vehicles to rest comfortably inside and move in and out with ease.

A few additional elements that give this barn such a distinguished character are:

1. The hay hood on the south side of the building
2. The two windowed-cupolas on top
3. The 6′ gable entry into the lean-to
